July 2011: The Month in Reading

This month I finally finished The Fiery Cross, book #5 in the Outlander series, which took me about six weeks. I’m not quite ready to dive into A Breath of Snow and Ashes yet–I have many more books that I want to read in the meantime. I just started The Hunger Games trilogy and I’m totally hooked!

I’m not really disappointed that I only finished four books this month because I’m trying to read more slowly and mindfully, rather than skimming a lot of a book just so I can finish a review or boost my reading totals.

So here are the titles I read this month:

A Compromised Innocent by Elaine Golden. A Regency-set novella which I enjoyed, and I’m really looking forward to a full-length novel from this author.

The Practicing Mind: Bringing Discipline and Focus Into Your Life by Thomas M. Sterner. A quick nonfiction read about mindfulness including lessons that I need to be reminded of over and over!

The Fiery Cross (Outlander) by Diana Gabaldon

One Night in London: The Truth About the Duke by Caroline Linden. Review coming soon.

What about you? What was your favorite book that you read this month?
