Waiting on Wednesday 6/1: A Breath of Eyre

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

Today I chose A Breathe of Eyre by Eve Marie Mont. The premise is similar to the story “Lost in Austen,” which I loved, where the heroine enters the world of a favorite book.

Expected publication date: April 1st 2012
Kensington

I couldn’t find any cover art–here’s the publisher’s blurb below:

Emma Townsend has always believed in stories, relying on them to cope with her mother’s death, her father’s distance, and her stepmother’s demands. Or maybe it’s just to escape her loneliness. As a sophomore on scholarship at an exclusive girls’ prep school, Emma has few friends and even fewer romantic prospects, unless you count her hopeless crush on her English teacher.

On her sixteenth birthday, she receives a copy of the novel Jane Eyre. But when she tries to lose herself in the story, she loses herself inside the book instead. Transported during a lightning storm, Emma finds herself living in Jane’s 19th century world, working as a governess at the eerie Thornfield Manor and falling for its enigmatic owner, Mr. Rochester. Just as she begins to feel love and acceptance for the first time, Emma uncovers a dark secret that makes it impossible for her to stay. As she journeys back and forth between her real and fantasy lives, the line between her worlds begins to blur. Does her destiny lie in the pages of Jane’s story or in the trials and troubles of her own heart

What about you? What are you looking forward to reading this Wednesday?
